Eduardo Hojman is an editor, translator and cultural journalist. He has contributed to newspapers and magazines in Spain, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, the United States and Uruguay, and has worked for publishing houses in Argentina and Spain. He has translated over a hundred books for publishers in Argentina and Spain, by authors including, amongst others, John M. Coetzee, Martin Amis, Saul Bellow, Woody Allen, Alberto Manguel and Colm Tóibín.

His early short stories, some of which were published in newspapers and anthologies, were selected for the 1st and 3rd Young Artists’ Biennials in Buenos Aires, in 1989 and 1991. Her first novel, Muñeca maldita, won the 2016 Librooks Primum Fictum Prize and, in 2017, was voted best debut novel in Spanish at the Festival du Premier Roman in Chambéry. In 2023, his short story Las palomas won the 74th La Felguera Short Story Competition, the oldest of its kind in Spain.

La escalera de hielo is his second novel. In 2026, he received the Literary Creation Grant from the Spanish Ministry of Culture to write his third novel.
